Where To Find A Free Medical Billing and Coding Online Program

Medical Billing and coding training programs online isn’t easy to come by. Seriously, if it’s so easy to get a free online training, there will be an overflow of certified billers and coders, however that is not the case.

Still once in a while there are medical billing and coding online programs given away for free by companies or even hospitals looking for entry level medical billers and coders. Instead of looking for qualified candidates, what these companies do is to hire someone with accounting, business management, book-keeping or any related skills and then train these people to become highly proficient medical billers and coders.

Though this doesn’t mean that there are no strings attached, most of the companies giving the free training will require you to sign an agreement to work for them after the training. This is only logical because why would these companies spend thousands training possible candidate only to let them work somewhere else upon completion of the training.

So when you decide to take a free training in case you found one, make sure you know everything that comes with the free offer. It will be a bonus to actually have a job right after the training but what if you will be bound to a 5 or 10 year contract with salary cap?  Worse is if there’s a penalty for resignation.

Now, to actually find a free online medical billing and coding training, here’s what you can do. Go to Google and search for free medical billing and coding online. I did this and found several free training at the time of this writing. Do the same, though I’m not sure if there will still be one by the time you read this.

When you found one, don’t bite the bullet yet. If they say it’s free and then all of a sudden they will ask you to pay them upfront for some kind of fee, verify first with the association of medical billers and coders if the site is legit.

Here’s another way to determine if a certain online offer is legitimate, search for reviews online and then read the reviews. If you read a lot of reviews, you will get a clear idea of which ones is legit.

If you see that everything is legit, do some more research. Ask for referrals, etc. And after that, it’s the only time to go ahead and bite it.

I hope this article helped you find out a great way to look for free online medical billing and coding classes. I wish you the best of luck and I hope your plans come to fruition.
